How They Improved Their Gait
The time for battle fast approached,
They would enter the ring and prove their ability.
Amidst comrades who also came to improve,
They would each stand before the judges and perform.
The arena roared with enthusiasm as they approached its entrance,
They couldn't look anyone in the eye.
They remained focused, calming their nerves and letting their body take over.
They stepped in thinking only of what they hoped to accomplish.
They watched others while waiting for their turn,
They entered and performed.
They gave their all, demonstrating what they held,
And only they could know how they improved their gait.
Competitions were a time to step up and demonstrate what they’ve been building. Though placed against other contenders, they were all comrades in the same sport looking for ways to improve. They would all take turns in front of judges and perform their best.
Arriving at the competition, they saw the arena filling up and heard the crowd’s enthusiasm as they neared the entrance. They couldn’t look at anyone, they needed to stay focused. With calm nerves, they’d be able to let their body take over and their mind only had to think about what they wanted to accomplish. They watched other contestants before it was their turn, and they gave it their all when they were up. Despite the competition and the marks of the judges, they were the only one who could measure their desired skill level. Competitions were a beautiful way for them to share and determine how to improve their gait.
