Positivity isn’t about being immediate to shut off or alter negative thoughts because how would the positive be recognized without a full picture?

In my updated opinion, I believe positivity is about slowing down in hardship to embrace what is. When the situation feels overwhelming, then positivity is a conscious choice to step back to tap into the hope that is in our soul and choose what we want to believe. I think the talk of turning negative into positive is more about the fact that we prefer the latter, and we feel a need to believe in it, not always an easy feat in times of chaos.

I’ve come to let go of the short-term solution of overriding the negative into positive because that leads me to ignore what is being offered. I believe it’s important to make myself aware of what is happening, explore all that I feel and be mindful of the choices I make. Can I turn the negative into a positive? I can only do that if I’m aware of what is and that is the choice I’m choosing to make to go forward. Every situation is an opportunity to grow and get to know oneself, why pass an immediate judgement on it and dismiss the gifts? Explore every experience presented to you, open yourself to every possible feeling and choose positivity when you’re aware and feeling that that is the choice for you.
