Gift Giving
As the wrapping peels away,
The excitement of surprise stirs.
As the box lid is lifted,
The loving care packaged lights the air.

They leaned in to view what they inspired,
Seeing within their heart’s desire.
To what did they owe this gesture of love?
How could they embrace it and return it in kind?
A giggle of joy escaped their mouth,
Lighting their face with radiant smiles.
The gift is lifted out of its cold hold,
And warmly embraced in delight.
Remembering the joy of having a gift opened by a child, they recalled the different stages that lead to a memorable moment of joy. The receiver is always an inspiration to start the process with care and the giving moment can always be shared.
