Don’t Hate What You Don’t Understand
An embarrassment when they felt they lacked knowledge,
A frustration to feel left behind or excluded.
Uncertainty feels dreadful in the moment,
Judgment with added conviction made them feel surer.
It was easier to turn away with distaste.
~Don’t hate what you don’t understand~
Lack of knowledge offered more to discover,
Frustration offered motivation to catch up.
Uncertainty is uncomfortable until respected;
Judgment without truth offers an empty conviction.
Don’t turn away from new discoveries because it’s easy.
It feels like an embarrassment to lack knowledge and it’s a frustration to be left behind or feel excluded. Uncertainty feels dreadful when we haven’t accepted the situation and can lead to hasty judgments that get masked with conviction. It’s easier to turn away with immediate distaste for the experience. It’s natural to dislike feeling helpless but we shouldn’t hate what we don’t understand. It’s okay to feel what we feel without drawing a conclusion. A lack of knowledge is an opportunity to discover. Our frustration can be our motivation to strive. Uncertainty will be a discomfort until we respect its role. Expressing a judgment without truth is a powerless conviction. It’s beneficial to meet hardship instead of turning away from discoveries because it’s easier. It’s useful to look beyond the moment and consider our overall growth. Life is always changing and offering opportunities.
