Am I Ready?

There’s excitement in opening a new package,

Until one realizes the depth of the box.

What’s obviously stacked appears alluring,

But what lies underneath will take effort to uncover.

Where art thou the desires that surface the box?

Are they ready for the taking?

Or do they require more time to settle?

Am I truly ready for what I asked for?

We think we know what we want but we’re not always certain when we receive it. There’s more to discover beyond the surface. We can be asked to move forward even when we don’t feel ready.
