Planted Seeds

I want to travel back to the field where I planted the seeds,

I will search to see if any stalks emerged.

If I don't see any, I know I'd have to patiently wait.

It was in Autumn that I packed my backpack with seeds to wear for the day,

I was lucky that we had a variety of in stock.

A full day of planting with the seeds on my shoulders as a purposeful weight.

Months later, I wear a raincoat as I travel to where I planted the seeds,

I'm hopeful that the seeds from my stock are green stalks in the ground.

The beauty that catches my eyes is worth the wait and I'm grateful for the purposeful weight I carried.
