Shadow Upon a Lighted Reality

An overcast is a veil of uncertainty,

A coming that offers an end,

A shadow upon a lighted reality.

What got known is given a bend,

A cause to scramble and grasp the new,

A coming that offers an end.

Moods feel dark and blue,

Time to dig deep to find the present,

A cause to scramble and grasp the new.

Absorb the change to get back to pleasant,

Never lose sight of what fuels your hope,

Time to dig deep to find the present.

Do what you can to enjoy the slopes,

Aim high when you feel down low,

Never lose sight of what fuels your hope.

Trek the journey with care going slow,

An overcast is a veil of uncertainty.

Aim high when you feel down low,

A shadow upon a lighted reality.

I wrote this poem reflecting on how an overcast sky affects me. It seems to always rock my neurology and present the uncertainty of my body and life. I've always taken an overcast as a time to patiently reflect, wrap things up and prepare to start anew. Though it seems gloomy, it makes me look forward to a rainfall that revives life.
