Does Security Bring Tranquility?
Though people strive for security in their lives, I question if security will bring a person tranquility in the long run.
Security is the feeling that makes us think we’re free from danger and people strive for it by trying to gain as much control over their life. The search for control often negates the natural changes that are beyond our control and our right to not-knowing that welcomes the wonder of life.
Tranquility is the state of calmness and peace. I've come to believe that this must be achieved internally. Despite the control we can gain externally, our spirit isn't at peace when what surrounds us doesn't align with who we are.
In my experience, security is a fleeting feeling when I don't strive to be conscious of where I am in the big picture. Security is calming until the aura of misalignment catches up to me. These are the times when fear reawakens to slow me down, assist me to awareness and get grounded once more.
There is always one being that we must work with and get to know in order to achieve tranquility and feel a lasting security, and that person is our self, inside and out. I'd like to encourage the world to drop their need for control, accept the wonder of not-knowing, stay conscious of their spirit in all tasks and appreciate the joy of life and growing. Inner tranquility will bring you security, just be prepared to follow the journey wherever it leads. It's definitely worth the effort!
