My Tears are My Joy

Kyle was celebrating five years of cancer remission and he was driving his wife, Alice, out for a night out in the country. Kyle was quiet as he drove, his mind wandering to the years of his battle. He remembered the struggle, fear, support, and love throughout those years. His emotions erupted with gratitude and tears quietly slid down his cheek.

Alice, who was watching Kyle closely, didn't know what to think or feel. "Kyle, hun, are you okay? Aren't you supposed to be happy? We're celebrating your five years of remission."

Kyle stopped the car before replying, "Alice, everyone wants happiness. No one wants pain. But you can't have a rainbow without a little rain. I was remembering everything over the past years and my gratitude caught me. My tears are my joy. Thank you so much for standing by me."
