Light perceived as hope
Darkness as an end
At times they interact
And deliver all the same
Start light in fire
Turning light to dark
Ending one contentment
Igniting the new from old
Fire, we tame down
It makes us let go
Pass the heat to move on
Douse the passion to be strong

That last line is interesting about dousing the passion to be strong. Sometimes holding on to all the passion and the fire is the very thing that’s burning us up and we all need to let go and remember our worth. A wonderful poem for the prompt, Astrid!

Letting go is so much a part of the meaning of life, I’ve learned. And fire is the perfect symbol of that effort. I like this.
