Life is Found in Loving Me

I'm forty-two and I grow younger every day.
Every year that passes delivers experience,
The weight of uncertainty growing lighter with acceptance,
Freedom is found in being me.

I go slow to appreciate more,
Searching, while understanding that not everything goes my way.
I flow with the changes that happen every day,
Joy is found in being a part of all.

I do less to encourage others to grow,
Knowing that more than one story deserves to shine.
I branch out to others to remain intertwined,
Peace is found in sharing more than just me.

I'm forty-two and it's more than age that makes me old or young.
It's in what I believe and the choices I make,
I determine whether I rise or break.
Life is found in loving me.

This poem started with thought of age and evolved to include thought of life experience. These are thoughts to appreciate the life that has passed while remembering the present and making life about all.
