What Seems to Be May Not Be

Though appearing like perfection, what seems to be may not be.

Comforted by knowledge, though what seems to be may not be.

Motivated to strive for success,
Inspired by what others already possess, what seems to be may not be.

Working hard to avoid uncertainty,
Growing fears of adversity, but what seems to be may not be.

The answer that was found yesterday,
No longer fits for today, what seems to be may not be.

A commercial describes a perspective,
Don't allow yourself to become subjective, what seems to be may not be.

A persona can easily be worn,
Sometimes to mask that inside we're torn, what seems to be may not be.

We're often told that they were doing good,
But things aren't feeling as it should, what seems to be may not be.

It appears to us as a challenging pain,
Until we recognize the actual gain, what seems to be may not be.

What's taught to us is thought to be correct,
When the truth comes out it feels abject, what seems to be may not be.

What's dark at night,
In the daytime brings light, what seems to be may not be.

What's thought of as a curse
May make things better instead of worse, what seems to be may not be.

The light of hope may feel very small,
Until it grows into a size that appalls, what seems to be may not be.

The journey may feel long and hard,
Giving you reason to simply discard, what seems to be may not be.

Astrid enjoys living life not-knowing,
Remaining open to what's showing while understanding that what seems to be may not be.
