Wealth: What is it?

In the dictionary, wealth is defined as an abundance of anything. I often wonder why it’s immediately related to money. To me, wealth is an abundance that sustains you and it ranges from various sources. My favorite source is energy because it’s found all around us and derived in various ways.

When I grew up, I was under the impression that I’d never be wealthy because it wasn’t likely for me to get a job. As much as I wanted to be financially secure, I started looking for different wealth. My favorite currency is love. When I share it, my energy rises and I feel the energy around me rise, too. I used to think it was in the reactions of others until I realized I didn’t have to wait for an external source. If I felt the world while in the atmosphere I’ve bubbled myself in, I feel the contentment from within.

Though I admit that money is required for survival, and I have just enough, I find my wealth in the joy I feel in me and around me. As long as I have love, receive love and feel motivated to spread love, I feel wealthy, blessed and ready to live.

Yes! 🙂 As Walt Whitman wrote, “And you or I pocketless of a dime may purchase the pick of the earth.”
