Dare to Look Beyond

Inspired by “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” -Mahatma Gandhi

Searching for self, you dare to look beyond,

The many treasures that lie within reach.

You never know what will cause you to feel fond,

New lessons it may teach.

The many treasures that lie within reach,

When with others, you choose to share.

New lessons it may teach,

In actions that show you care.

When with others, you choose to share,

You open a new reality.

In actions that show you care,

You add to Life’s loving quality.

You open a new reality,

When you choose to serve.

You add to Life’s loving quality,

By being brave and not giving in to nerves.

When you choose to serve,

You’re hoping to find more.

By being brave and not giving in to nerves,

You don’t concentrate on a score.

You’re hoping to find more,

You never know what will cause you to feel fond.

You don’t concentrate on a score,

Searching for self, you dare to look beyond.
