For July, I’ve chosen the virtue of independence as the theme for the month.
For me, I used to believe that independence was the ability to be on my own without needing others. Now, I believe independence is the faith to rely on my mental and physical abilities and trust to move forward as I am. There’s no denying my need for the world around me and, to be independent, I must be comfortable with myself to venture my unique trails.
I’ve learned that a unique trail appearing filled with disability doesn’t condemn me as a dependent traveler. Even when requiring support, a person is independent when reliant on individual desires, needs and intuition.
In times of doubt, look outside of yourself to expand knowledge and trust yourself to choose a solution. Be dependent on you and your answers will merge. Independence, the ability to trust yourself, is found within.
