The Hardest Battle

Logan was battling with his recent decision. His doctor told him that open-heart surgery was necessary for his health and he decided to go through with it if his life depended on it.

After hearing the risks involved, the possibility of a stroke, Logan became weary and withdrawn. He was scared of the consequences and couldn’t deny the recent difficulties that lead him to this option. He wanted freedom to be active and feel alive again. Logan felt his decision, he knew this was a risk he must make to live out his desires.

When Logan informed his family, everyone raised their concerns and placed their fears on him. Though Logan was certain he made the right decision, he couldn’t shut out the words regarding the risks, they played constantly in his mind as the countdown to surgery began.

Amelia, Logan’s mother, accompanied him to the hospital on the day of surgery. Before reaching the hospital, she said, ” I admire your courage, Logan. I saw your doubt when you told us, yet you’re sticking to it. I see you battling. The hardest battle is between what you know in your head and what you feel in your heart. I’m proud you’ve chosen to listen to your heart. I believe it’ll be a success well earned.”
