The Danger of a Single Story

In this speech, Chimamanda Adichie confirms the importance of being open and mindful to what perceptions we choose to believe. A single story paints one picture and Life’s big picture is a collage of pictures, stories and purpose. Go beyond a quick conclusion and explore various aspects of the story.

A single story tells a single perspective

Sometimes, told with specific objectives.

Acceptance requires an effort to open each fold

To search for a heartfelt truth that’s bold

It takes courage to be respective

To love fully without being subjective

To categorize or ignore is to be cold

Looking away is choosing to fit a poor mold

Black or white, all lives matter, be respective

Make unconditional love a central objective

Every life has a journey to unfold

Be open to all stories and place no other into a set mold
