Take this symbol of my love that has begun and never ends,
While on this day we intertwine the meshes of our lives.
For these past years we have made a love with every square,
We have a quilt of past and present, threaded to endure.
A future we will stitch together, new squares to combine,
Our love began a while ago and continues through all time.
Continued…
For these past years, we’ve been adding more loving squares to our quilt,
Including the new meshes of our family’s life.
Many new adventures and we have all survived as one,
Staying huddled in memorable warmth as husband and wife.
To adventures that lay ahead, new squares we’ll find together
Our family will brave all weather, close in love forever.
As my husband and I celebrate our anniversary this year, I look back on the poem I recited when I placed the ring on his finger and added what I see and vow today.
Happy anniversary to you both, and continued blessings on your journey together!
