On hot days when humidity rises,
We stare at paths adorned by sunlight.
Patiently waiting for clouds to hover,
Never certain if they’ll release their tears,
Yet feeling hopeful and parched.
“Shower down on us!”
We beg the sky.
“Freckle our paths with life!”
A Quadrille submitted to dVerse with the prompt to use the word freckle.
I picture those raindrops freckling the path, little polka-dots reminding us we need the rain sometimes too. I enjoyed this very unique use of the word. 🙂

Thanks, Mish. I’m glad you caught the fun in my words. I love watching raindrops freckling a path, it brings great joy.

I like the idea of rain freckling the land with life. What a fresh (and refreshing!) perspective. We need some freckling here also!

Nice last line. I like the thought of wanting the sky to release its tears.
