Deprived of Thee

The mother looked at her photo album and pondered where the time went. How could something so small and living within her grow so big and feel so distant?

Reminiscent about days when her daughter would cling to her skirts and fit snugly in her lap, she recalls the frustration felt when she needed privacy. She never sent her daughter away and hadn’t expected to feel lost without her, yet time moved forth and her daughter grew.

Much pride is felt in the accomplishments her daughter achieved, though never anticipating how it could draw them apart. The happiness in her memories reversed the sadness of her separation. For how could she deny her child the freedom to succeed?

“I will forever be here for you, no matter what endeavor. ” she whispered to her daughter’s most recent picture. ” Even if I feel the pain of being deprived of thee. “
