No guidelines to set a course,
Dive in and believe.
Don’t rely on theory,
Live before you perceive.
Begin with a goal in mind,
Believe to achieve.
Give yourself with your heart,
Be ready to receive.
Theory won’t support you,
For it can deceive.
Listen to your instincts,
Believe to achieve.
Experience to feel it,
Make time to receive.
Trust and continue growth,
Reflect to perceive.
At dVerse, we were encouraged to write about theory. As I’ve always been a person of instinct before intellect and heart over mind, I’m not a big fan of following theories. I find theories useful for learning but limiting guidelines.
Perhaps we need a theory about trusting our intuition, our instincts. I like the message of your poem – and the rhyme scheme.

I do like a theory that grows from our senses… to me a theory is like the map, but it’s the road that matters
