All within your sight

It will be your flight

Soar free

Pretend you’re a kite

Nothing holding tight

Just be

It’s your given right

Use your inner might

 

You can choose to bite

Have a source ignite

Think first

You don’t want it trite

Or become a fight

Don’t burst

All within your sight

It will be your flight

 

Follow your own light

Let go, don’t be tight

Live now

Don’t get caught in fright

Whether day or night

Somehow,

It will be your flight

All within your sight

    Each stanza stands alone well, and they combine well, too. I’m in a period of carving away and minimalising, so I might have shed the middle stanza, but that’s just the mood I’m in. It’s a form I’m finding really hard – that 2 beat line comes out as an exclamation, but I think that works well here. It could be chanted in a demonstration, it has that kind of strength.

    I’m not expressing this very well. I like it.

    There is a mantra/affirmation aspect to your poem that I like. Something to get yourself revved up in the morning 🙂

    Yes, agree it has a very chanting effect and works well with your freedom and free flowing ideas in the poem. Something I feel is difficult with this form.
