Experience, geography of existence,
Exploration of self.
-To test character-
In all situations.
The rocky terrain of a path untraveled,
Providing ups and downs.
-To tease awareness-
Offering discovery.
The sandy beach amid a sunset,
Blowing a cooling breeze.
-To test balance-
Searching for enjoyment.
The swamps within a forest,
Messy path to trudge.
-To tease ability-
Proving survival skills.
The road of slippery ice,
Filled with possible blunders.
-To test the will-
Encouraging adventure.
The grass plain on a warm day,
Wide terrain to run.
-To offer freedom-
For enjoyment.
Experience, geography of existence,
Exploration of life.
-Continuation of growth-
Discovering who you are.
Submitted to dVerse for the prompt to add geography into our poetry from Anmol (alias HA).
I think learning yourself is much the same as exploring the surroundings.

I really like the “To test/To tease” dichotomy — it gives the poem a good pace. It’s wonderful how exploration and experience create avenues for growth and self-discovery. Very well penned! 🙂
