Every Package Deserves Value

We can discover the package in which we’ve been delivered

Remembering it arrived without a label or price

We accept it as our own until …

We enter the social world and adopt their vice

Suddenly labels and prices are stamped on every pack

Black, white, rich, poor, good, bad, competent, disabled

All thoughts derived from an opinion

Causing regret for the package we’ve always had

Every package carries many labels and deserves their value

Remember it from start to finish, filled with love

Enjoy the wrapping you were given

And shed the labels and false pricing like a glove

Every package indeed deserves value and it would indeed be a utopian world where labels wouldn’t matter anymore.
I really liked this bit: “Remember it from start to finish, filled with love/Enjoy the wrapping you were given”.
This speaks to me of celebrating our differences through the common thread of love. A lovely poem!

Glad to hear the thread of love was recognized. Unique qualities should be celebrated.

It would be nice to choose not to play the game. Sadly, that would mean going off the grid a bit. I like your optimism here.

The sacred mantra of psychotherapists … “First you learn to love yourself”. Easier to say than do, but, once mastered, “their” labels are worthless detritus.

It would be an ideal world without labels and prices on every package or things. Love is a beautiful message.

LOVE this idea! Born as a package….labels inflicted by others and environment etc.

I think there are too much energy paid to labels… it masks the human behind.

I like your choice of word, vice not view which would be the common choice.

Adopting other’s ways against who we are, it starts as a view and grows into a vice.
