Looking down the yellow brick road
What do I see upon this journey?
Where could I head without guidance?
Will I find my way back home?
There is no courage to face the unknown,
I have no heart to love what is.
Without a brain, I cannot think,
I can only hope to find my home.
With the fears and doubts that builds,
It’s time to look into the looking glass.
Revel in the image that tells no lies,
Find the truth within these trials.
Feel the courage in the strength of your stare
Accept the love in your questioning care
Give life to your brain as you become aware.
You will be home in the choice you fare
Combining all three characters in your poem worked well here as it represented the many different obstacles we face in life’s path. Many obstacles are self-made. A beautiful, reflective piece.
