Feelings are Emotions

Feelings are emotions that can be influenced to trigger, but only you can control its level of vigor.

What is a feeling? Why does it have the power to effect one’s mood? Feelings are emotions, felt in the core of our person. At times, when unaccustomed to the message it conveys, we react with emotions we understand, but it doesn’t resolve what life is presenting. We say it was influenced by another person, but the intensity of emotions and understanding can only be decided by you. 

When we’ve established a belief, we’re not open to differing perspectives and hope to be correct for our person, but admitting mistakes won’t diminish our person, it serves as a new level of growth as we expand our perspective and accept experience. 

Some emotions are common but there are times when the emotion feels more intense and is hard to decipher. It could be a mixture of the emotions recognized and it represents a new experience from an inner motivation. When a companion points out a flaw in your person, it hurts to hear the truth, but blaming them for hurting your feelings is insufficient for your growth and relationship. Their words awaken new understanding, but only you can understand the emotions stirred. The moment feels heated with realization, yet it’s within your control to listen to your emotions and decide how to proceed. 

Everyone has feelings, but it can’t be manipulated by another without your permission. If you choose to be angry or sad in a situation, then that is your chosen reaction. The environment influences various reactions that encourage experience. Without diligent practice with your emotions, you wouldn’t know who you are or the person you desire to be. The triggers are continuous on the journey of life; accept them as opportunities to grow. There is no set purpose to hurt who you are, but trust in the development every experience provides. Explore your emotions, experiment with reactions to accomplish your desires and grow into the person you want to be. Feelings are emotions and are an expression of who you are.
