My Squish-Mushroom Nose

Submitted to dVerse

I possess a mushroom-like feature
That inhales the air
A distinct characteristic
For family compare

We look for it on each new baby
Shape of nose on face
Passed through plenty generations
A feature we embrace

We’ve changed, though I still recognize
My squish-mushroom nose
A reminder of family
On the face, it’s embossed

  1. Your poem made me smile, Astrid, while trying to imagine what a squish-mushroom nose actually looks like! How wonderful to embrace the family feature and celebrate it in a poem.
