Life is like a plastic canvas project. I’ve recently found a way to get back into the art of stitching and have been blessed to rediscover the satisfaction of creativity. I’ve stated that life is an art and, today, I relate the art of life to my plastic canvas projects.
Every art project commences after a vision of success motivates our spirit. When the goal has been determined, it’s time to study the pattern, determine a plan and have knowledge of the supplies and work required for the project. Once the preparation is complete, the project is ready to begin.
Every first step begins with a decision. What do I wish to accomplish first? Which color or stitch would I like to experiment with? Once my choice is made, the work I want to do is clarified and I’m ready to thread my needle and stick it into my canvas.
As I complete a specific stitch from the pattern, I can look upon my progress and decide on my next stitch to complete. Do I want another yarn color, or should I remain with the same? Does it truly matter which I do next? As my project starts to materialize, I choose what I want to see and how I wish to proceed. I can choose a challenge or focus on completion. Questions will arise on what the outcome of my project will be, but I will only remain uncertain if I don’t continue. Any choice I make will contribute to my project.
Once the picture on the canvas looks more complete, it’s time to consider the finishing touches to make it whole. Do I wish to have the edges remain or should I stitch it to give it more color? Final touches are important to accomplish satisfaction and personal expression. My completion may differ from the pattern, but it will brand it as an original creation I can own. Any extra touch of care in a project expresses my dedication to my desires.
When the project is finished, I look at the creation and the memories of all my time and efforts are visible. The energy I recall contributing into my work captures my soul in a joy commemorating success. I can hold proof of an achievement that envelops my creativity and dedication, and I’m free to share it with whomever I please whenever I want to contribute to the world.
Decide upon a new project to create in your life, contribute to your life canvas and own a proof for your appreciation. It may be simple, or it may be a challenge, but it will be another stitch to attest your devotion. Face ambivalence, focus on your goals and dedicate yourself to the art of life. You will succeed because you chose to proceed.
Cute ones.
